SHORT HISTORY
Testimonies of life in this region date back to the Neolithic era, but written mentions appear in European chronicles since the fourteenth century, when Dragos Voda founded Moldova as an outpost in the way of Tatar invasions.
GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS
The rich relief offers hilly and plain areas that are suitable for a wide range of agricultural crops, and mountain areas with spectacular landscapes are favorable for the development of tourism.
NATURAL RESOURCES OF THE REGION
The region has the following exploitable resources of the subsoil: manganese, polymetallic sulfides, carbonated mineral waters and sulfurous and ferruginous minerals.
